The automatic solder paste printer is set in the front-end of a complete SMT production line. It is one of the three main machines in the SMT production line (The other two machines are mounter and reflow oven). The solder paste printer is divided into semi-automatic and fully automatic. Currently, most of factory are using fully automatic solder paste printer, because the overall technology of the solder paste printer industry has been relatively mature, and a number of well-known brands have emerged at China and abroad. Below SunzonTech will shortly introduce you the working process of an automatic solder paste printer.
1. The PCB is fed into the automatic solder paste printer through the automatic PCB magazine loader along the conveyor belt
2. The automatic solder paste printer looks for the main edge of the PCB and locates it.
3. The Z frame moves up to the position of the vacuum plate.
4. Add vacuum to fix the PCB in a special position.
5. The vision axis (printing machine camera) slowly moves to the first target of the PCB (mark point).
6. The printer camera looks for the mark point (reference point) under the corresponding steel mesh.
7. The machine moves the printed stencil to align it with the PCB.
8. After the Alignment of the stencil and PCB, the Z-frame will move upward, then the PCB will touch the lower part of the stencil.
9. Once the PCB and stencil moved into the right place, the squeegee will push the solder paste to roll on the stencil and print it on the PCB’s PAD position through the holes on the stencil
10. When the printing is completed, the Z-frame moves downward to drive the PCB and the stencil to separate
11. Then automatic solder paste printer will send the PCB to the next station of SMT production line.
12. The automatic solder paste printer then receives the next PCB to be printed
13. Perform the same process on the next PCB, but use the second squeegee to print in the opposite direction.
